Executive Director Catalyst for Educational Change

Shelley Taylor is the Executive Director for Catalyst for Educational Change (CEC) and a National Board Certified Teacher (NBCT). She manages all programs, partnerships, and content for strong Multi-Tiered Systems of Support, Instructional Coaching, Leadership, All Access Learning Design and Inclusion practices as well as oversees day-to-day operations of CEC.  A former teacher, instructional coach, union leader, and district level administrator, Shelley serves PK-12 settings with strong collaborative practices focused on continuous improvement and building shared commitments in educational reform efforts.  She has a strong background in facilitating and leading professional learning communities as described in her book, Game Plan: A playbook for developing winning PLCs at work© (Garcia, H., McCluskey, K., Taylor, S., 2015).  She also has successful experience managing federal and state funded grants.

Shelley received her BA in Elementary Education from National-Louis University and eventually a Master of Arts in Teaching from the University of St. Mary. She also holds an Educational Leadership endorsement from DePaul University, was a McCormick Foundation Executive Fellows in 2019 for the Erikson Institute Early Childhood Leadership Academy, and has a certification through the Allstate Foundation Nonprofit Leadership Center in Nonprofit Management.
