There is a growing interest in childhood poverty and trauma among school administrators, union officials, and community leaders across Illinois and the country – and what effective solutions might look like. Though a new organization, the Partnership is regularly contacted by these interested parties to help them address the increasing needs of students in their schools.

In response to these requests, the Partnership is developing new professional development training for teachers which will be piloted this summer. In collaboration with the Illinois Education Association (IEA), this June we are also hosting three one-day conferences to share our work in the Southland, Northwest Chicago suburbs and in Springfield.

This website is a further means to share the resources we have uncovered and are utilizing. Finally, with help for the Consortium for Educational Change (CEC) we will be producing a series of videos to track and share our progress.
