Partnership for Resilience and Harvard Education Redesign Lab Publish Report on Expanding Trauma-Informed Care and Supports for Students

Twenty years ago, Kaiser Permanente and the Centers for Disease Control issued a report demonstrating the profound relationship between adverse childhood experiences (ACEs) and adult health and wellbeing outcomes. Despite the extensive research showing the adverse impacts of ACEs on children and their academic achievement and overall wellbeing, many schools and communities continue to lack in their comprehensive supports for children with ACEs. The new report “Early Lessons in Building Trauma-Sensitive Schools” showcases partner districts that have begun to incorporate holistic supports for students with ACEs and shares tangible best practices and lessons learned that educators and city and district leaders can apply in their own communities.
